Consumers National Bank To Open Branch In Brewster
Minerva, Ohio–Consumers National Bank announced today that it has received approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) for its application to operate a new full-service branch office at 210 Wabash Avenue South in Brewster, Ohio. The approval establishes the 15th branch in the bank’s network. Consumers National Bank anticipates that banking operations at the new Brewster office will begin in May.
“Opening this new office in Brewster will enable Consumers National Bank to serve new personal, business, and agricultural customers in southwestern Stark County, as well as Holmes, Wayne and Tuscarawas counties. By opening a branch in Brewster, we are demonstrating our commitment to bring community banking to under-served, but viable markets,” said Ralph J. Lober, II, president and CEO of Consumers National Bank. “We began working to expand into Brewster in October when we learned that the long-time bank building would become available. Consumers’ community-based philosophy, along with the local staff, will make the branch a success and an integral part of the Village and surrounding communities.
Johanna Lyon has been named the new Brewster Relationship Manager. Ms. Lyon has more than 20 years of banking experience and is a resident of nearby Beach City where she resides with her husband and two children. Her community involvement includes serving as Treasurer of the Fairless Music Booster Association. “I am very excited to be working with my neighbors and local businesses. As a local community bank, Consumers National Bank will provide the personalized customer service that Brewster residents will appreciate. We have already begun to build an exceptional team,” said Lyon.
The Brewster facility includes a traditional bank lobby, two drive-up teller lanes, safe deposit boxes, night depository, and an ATM. In addition to consumer loans and a full line of deposit products, the community will have access to Consumers’ mortgage originators, business bankers, agricultural lender, wealth management services, and state-of-the-art consumer and business focused technology.
Consumers National Bank was established by local business men in Minerva, Ohio, in 1965. Since that time, the bank has expanded beyond Stark to Carroll, Columbiana, Jefferson and Summit counties taking its philosophy of community banking and knowledgeable, personalized service to these markets. The bank, now at $528 million in assets, is the largest Stark County headquartered bank and holds a five-star (superior) Bauer Financial bank rating.
“Consumers National Bank has grown primarily by investing back into the communities in which we do business. Local investors and depositors support local lending. In addition, we provide customers with direct access to local decision making and state-of-the-art technology. Residents, businesses, and farmers in Brewster and the surrounding area share many of the characteristics of our current customer base. They have a strong work ethic and pride in their community and schools. We believe that the entire region will welcome the kind of personalized service and account offerings we provide. We have locally-based service and offer all the technology that the regional and mega-banks offer. It is a win-win for Consumers and the community. We look forward to building new personal and business banking relationships out of our Brewster branch and to making a difference in the community,” said Lober.
